BKS dues renewal period is now July 1st thru June 30 each year. This change was voted on and apporved at the annual meeting.

1/1/2022 the cost of a round of trap goes up to $4.50, plus a $2.00 dollar daily fee for the first round of trap shot. Also, the daily range fee at the pistol/rifle range, effective 1/1/2022, will be $3.00 per member/shooter.

COVID-19 Update June 20, 2020

Starting Saturday, June 20, 2020 BKS ranges will be open to members, normal Trapshooting hours Thursdays 9am-1pm, Sunday 11am-4pm, the rifle/pistol ranges will be open to members for our regular summer hours from 8am – 7pm on the days not in use as stated above. Please refer to our quarterly flyer, or to our website for additional dates/times the ranges may be closed. These hours are subject to change at management’s discretion. The clubhouse will be closed for now other than staff and the lady’s room.

COVID-19 Precautions:
Always maintain six feet of separation from each other.

If you are sick, have been in contact in the past 2 weeks with someone who is sick, or are identified as high risk, please stay home.

All social interactions will consist of five people or less while maintaining six feet of separation.

BKS will be performing and enforcing the following actions:

Bathrooms, gun racks, tables etc. surfaces will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.

We will have staff and volunteers monitoring the shooters to enforce social distancing.

Recommendations:
Bring your own coffee and snacks.

Please bring your own hand sanitizer for personal use. The club has a limited supply.

The BKS Sportsmen's Club was founded in 1935 as the Brownsmead Athletic Association. A handful of ranchers, loggers, fishermen and their families. They gathered regularly at the Brownsmead Grange Hall for one of the three annual turkey shoots, with live turkeys. Around 1950 the BAA merged with some Svensen, Knappa guys and became the BKS Sportsmen's Club. Established on land then owned by the county, leased for $1 and developed a 2 acre trap shooting range, soon afterwards built a small one room clubhouse. A county decision to "trade some land" left the club with new landlords. The lease continued but the rates climbed. Finally, through the club's fund raising efforts, the land, (10 acres), was purchased from Boise Cascade, (the 3rd or 4th timber company to pass the lease along). A second trap shooting range was added in 1968. A rifle range was developed, (100 yards), and a small pistol bay. The small clubhouse was expanded in the mid 1980's with added storage and flush toilets. In 2012(approx), adjacent land, (14.5 acres), was purchased from Hampton Affiliates to complete the current property at 24.5 acres. BKS is a proud member of the NRA, OASR, ODFW, PITA.
